Adding Supervising Signatures on the EHR/EMR App
On the web EHR, a supervising provider can sign off on a rendering provider's clinical note (Guide found here). This functionality is extended to the EHR/EMR iOS app. Supervising signatures on the mobile app works the same way as the web. First, a drchrono team member must have set up a supervisor/rendering provider relationship in your account. This feature will not work on the web or mobile app unless this setting has been enabled. Then a supervisor must use their account to find the appointment/note that needs to be signed and then use the 'Add Supervising Signature' button to add their signature on top of the rendering providers' signature.
Finding the appointment/note is made easy with the filters available on the iOS app. Tap on the 'Filters' button on the top left page of the app's EHR section. Here, make sure 'All Appointments' is selected so that other providers' appointments will also appear. Filter for locked notes only (which are locked from the rendering provider's signature), your desired date range, and the office/exam room you wish to search for.
Your results will be shown on your left-hand panel. If you did not filter by locked notes, just look for a lock symbol on your appointments. Once you find your note tap on the 'Start Visit' button.
If this appointment was sign and locked by a rendering provider that has been implemented as a provider who needs a supervising signature and the account that is accessing the appointment is authorized to be a supervisor, you will see an 'Add Supervising Signature' button. Tap on this to add your e-signature to the bottom of the clinical note.
