Submitting MIPS data in drchrono
Participants of MIPS have several options of submission however most users will submit data through the Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Attestation methods. Read below to learn more.
If you're a participant of MIPS, you will have until the March following this year's reporting period to submit your data. For example, for the 2017 reporting period (January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017), you will have until March 31, 2018 to submit your data to CMS.
Submission Process for MIPS
STEP 0: Make sure you check your MIPS participation status to determine if you're included or exempt from MIPS requirements.
STEP 1: Determine your submission method. Visit this informational page on the CMS website for more information. For small practices or individual physicians, you may benefit from joining an ACO. If applicable, speak with your ACO to determine reporting guidelines.
Note: Each performance category (Quality, Advancing Care Information, Improvement Activities, and Cost) can be submitted with different submission options. Selecting one submission option for a performance category does not mean that all performance categories must also be submitted using that submission option.
STEP 2: Log into your EIDM account on the QPP website, found here: QPP Login
Note: You must have the "Provider Approver" or "PQRS Provider" role types in order to access the QPP portal. Contact your security official or call the QPP help center at 1-866-288-8292 if you need help with your EIDM role type.
STEP 3: Complete the 2-Factor Authentication step that was configured upon EIDM account creation.
STEP 4: In your account dashboard, you'll see which practices and APM entities you're affiliated with.
STEP 4: Select if you'd like to prefer to report as a group or as an individual.
STEP 5: Click on one of the reporting options provided.
STEP 6: Submit your MIPS measures. Depending on the performance category you've selected, you'll have different submission options. For Quality and ACI, we think you'll pick one of two major options which we'll guide you through:
- Submission Method: Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- With this method, you'll be downloading and uploading a data file from the drchrono EHR.
- Submission Method: Attestation
- With this method, you'll be manually entering your performance metrics.
Note: Both methods subject you to the possibility of an audit. Being audited? We can help! Contact our support team at https://drchrono.com/help/.
