Beginning with the date of service January 1, 2023, you no longer need to submit certificates of medical necessity (CMN) or durable medical equipment information forms (DIF) for Medicare patients. CMS has stated that if they are included, the claim will be rejected and returned to you.
For dates of service before January 1, 2023, the forms are needed if required.
