Why does onpatient need an email address and password? Is this a requirement?

onpatient is a secure HIPAA compliant portal where you can communicate with your doctor and share your medical history with your doctor. To help keep this secure a password is required for log in.

The email is the patient's unique identifier (like a username). Not only that, if the patient loses their password, we can use the email to reset the password.

Both an email and a password are required to help keep your onpatient account safe and secure.
