Through onpatient, your patients can have a seamless visit experience when their information is automatically synced with your drchrono EHR. After familiarizing yourself with onpatient, it's time to customize the onpatient interface and make it your own.
Your onpatient patient interface comes with several default sections and a few customizable sections. Sections can be switched off, reordered, and made 'required' by the patient to fill out. Customizable sections can be manipulated through the template builder and can have custom fields entered into them, including short text fields, single/multi checkboxes, switches, selection boxes, and fraction fields. This guide will only briefly cover the template builder which can be explored more in depth here.
The onpatient Templates Editor: Required Fields, Reordering & Removing Sections
To reach the onpatient Templates Editor, mouse over the 'Clinical' tab on your navigation bar then select 'onpatient Templates'.
The onpatient Template Editor will open that will allow you to modify how patients interact with your onpatient interface. For reference, the onpatient sections that are changed with this page can be viewed here.
Removing Default Sections from the Interface
To remove sections from the interface, check the 'hidden checkbox' to the right of the unwanted section. When the box is checked, the section will be grayed out indicating that the section has been removed from the onpatient interface.
To reorder sections within the onpatient interface, look to the upper right hand corner of the onpatient Templates page and look for the 'Reorder Templates' button.
When you select the 'Reorder Templates' the button will lock in a darkened state, indicating that the sections within the page can be reordered. To reorder the sections of the onpatient interface, click and drag the section to the desired position.
When you are satisfied with the order of your sections, click the 'Reorder Templates' button and verify that the button has returned to its original appearance, indicating that the section order has been locked.
If you have fields that are critical to your practice and should always be required for a patient to fill out, check the fields you want to make required.
On the onpatient interface, the required fields will automatically show up in red if they are incomplete. At the bottom of the page, the patient will be unable to use the 'I'm done' button until the required fields have been completed.
Customizing Your onpatient Fields
To customize your onpatient templates, you'll need to access our template builder tool. From the navigation bar, mouse over 'Clinical' and select 'Builder.
You'll be presented with our template builder. Select the 'Presets' tab on the left-hand 'Template List', the select one of the two onpatient templates, 'Additional Info' and 'Reasons for Visit'. You'll be presented with the default fields for the template. You can add, remove, or change any fields you would like by dragging and dropping the desired fields to the template. This guide is a basic guide to the template builder. A more comprehensive guide can be found here.
You can then see your changes appear on the onpatient interface.
Again, this guide only explains the basics of using the builder. For a more comprehensive guide, check out our guide on the template builder.
