Ordering a Lab on the EHR/EMR App
In the EHR/EMR app, you can order lab test just as you would with the browser EHR. To begin, navigate to a patient's chart and tap on their name. From the dropdown menu, select 'Labs'.
A list of your previously ordered labs will appear. To send a new lab test, tap on the '+' button in the upper right hand corner of the page.
Once you tap on '+', a form will appear that allows you to fill out the details of your lab order. Here you will need to enter who to bill, the specimen collection date, any ICD codes, notes, the order provider, your office, and the name of the lab to send to.
On the bottom half of the form, you need to select the test you would like the lab to complete. Tap on this box to search for the test you would like to conduct. You may select multiple tests by selecting the '+' button.
After everything is filled out, select 'Submit' to send your lab order. To verify that your lab was sent, you may select 'Lab' from your patient chart to check that the lab you sent is now in that list.
