What should I do if the ICD-10 code I use is flagged as 'Removed'?

ICD-10 Removal Warning

ICD codes routinely get updated and removed by the CDC. If an update rolls out and the ICD codes you submit to the insurance do not change, your claims will be denied by insurance companies. Within the drchrono EHR, the ICD code search will flag outdated codes with a "Removed since YYYY-MM-DD" message.

If your code has this flag underneath it when you search for ICD-10 codes, you will need to look up the updated equivalent code, often similar to the original code.
