Integrated Payment Partners
DrChrono is integrated with payment processors that allow you to process credit cards for patient payments. The main payment processors that integrate with DrChrono are:
Square - (Recommended) Square can be set up by going to Account > Account Settings > Patient Payments.
- Connecting Square to your Account
- Processing Payments Through Square on the Web
- Processing Payments on the iPad EHR App
Keep in mind DrChrono's in-house payment processor integrations are not built out for automatic processes such as recurring payments and our Square functionality is more geared toward individual payments.
Features that work with in-house payments and Payment Partners
You can use some of DrChrono's tools to facilitate the process of automating adding charges to an appointment. Using both appointment and billing profiles, you can set up charges for appointments scheduled. You can also use appointment and billing profiles in conjunction with recurring appointments to set up recurring charges.
- Appointment Profiles
- Billing Profiles
- Connecting Billing and Appointment Profiles
- Recurring Appointments
Square Only Features Within the Square dashboard you can set up recurring payments/charges. However, these charges/payments will not sync back to your DrChrono account. The payments would need to be manually entered in DrChrono in the appointment payment window or patient payments menu described above in order to accurately reflect the balances.
If you are looking for a more end-to-end solution for patient payments, check out our integrated patient collections partner ClearGauge (CG). The software allows for more extensive patient receivables functionality in a virtual setting.
Some helpful features of CG are: automatic payments, the ability to notify patients about the amounts they owe (real-time, as well as outstanding balances), the ability to text patients their bill, the ability to charge patients via text, and the ability for patients to set up monthly installment payment plans.
