DrChrono makes it simple to add the patient's discharge status to their institutional claim.
- Navigate to Billing > Live Claims Feed > Inside the patient's encounter > Right side of the screen > Info tab
Options included in the drop-down are:
01 - Discharge to home or self-care (routine discharge)
02 - Discharge to another short-term general hospital
03 - Discharge to SNF
04 - Discharge to ICF
05 - Discharge to a designated cancer center or children's hospital
06 - Discharge to home under care of a home health service organization
07 - Left against medical advice or discontinued care
09 - Admitted as inpatient (after outpatient services)
20 - Expired
30 - Still patient or expected to return for outpatient services
40 - Expired at home (hospice claims only)
41 - Expired in a medical facility (hospice claims only)
44 - Expired, place unknown (hospice claims only)
50 - Hospice - home
51 - Hospice - medical facility
70 - Discharge to another type of health care institution not defined elsewhere in this code list
