You can easily send controlled substance prescriptions on DrChrono's EHR app for the iPad Similar to sending a prescription through the web, there are two ways ID.me performs multi-factor authentication (MFA) to send prescriptions: a push notification or code generator.
There are a few ways to get to the Send Prescription page on the EHR app.
1. Tap on the patient's name and next tap on Send eRx.
2. From the note or patient information screen, tap on the Medications & Allergies menu, Next, tap on the icon next to the medication.
3. Tap on the patient's name and then select Medications. Next, tap on the icon next to the medication.
No matter which path you use to the send prescription, you will enter or edit the medication information and click Preview.
Push Notification
1. After entering the prescription information and tapping send, you will be prompted to enter your DrChrono Password. Push Send when finished.
2. You will then receive a notification through ID.me's Authenticator App to confirm the prescription on your set-up device. Tap Yes to confirm.
3. The prescription will be processed.
4. You will receive a green eRx has been sent a confirmation message at the top of the screen when finished.
Code Generator
1. After entering the prescription information and tapping send, you will be prompted to enter your DrChrono Password and the 6-digit Authentication Code generated from the ID.me Authenticator app.
2. Enter the 6-digit code generated by the ID.me Authenticator app and push Send.
3. The prescription will be processed.
4. You will receive a green eRx has been sent a confirmation message at the top of the screen when finished.
