The New Drug Database is Now Available in DrChrono!
In partnership with First Databank MedKnowledge (new drug database), DrChrono now supports the ability to electronically send compound medications that contain a controlled substance to print out for your patients or send electronically.
- Tap on the patient's name and select Send eRx.
- After the prescription entry screen loads, tap the plus () icon and select Compound Medication.
- When building a compound medication, the user will want to select the individual ingredients/medications first. Each medication/ingredient will be a "Compound part". As compound parts are selected, the medication name will update to add the compound part.
- Tap the "+" button at the top right to add a Compound Part
- Tap the remove (-) icon to remove a Compound Part
Note:
- If the compound part is a controlled substance the system will indicate the level.
- If the compound medication/ingredient does not have any schedule II-V compound parts in it, the user will have to select the "There is no controlled substance within the compound prescription" checkbox in order to send the prescription.
- The user can then update the Medication name to match what should be sent to the pharmacy.
Proceed with entering the appropriate information for the prescription (i.e. SIG, Dispense, Days Supply, Refills, Diagnosis Codes etc.)
- The user can "Add to Favorites" to quickly prescribe the new compound medication in the future.
