Did you know there was an electronic tool where you can find a patient's Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) if they do not have their insurance card?
You first need access to eServices. Once you have access, you will have access to the MBI Lookup tool. Different MACs have it in different areas of the screen, so you might have to look around, but it will be there, likely as a tab.
To use the tool to obtain a patient's MBI, you will need:
- The beneficiary's first and last name
- Their date of birth
- Their social security number
