There may be a time when during providing the service as described in the estimate, additional services/equipment/supplies are needed that were unexpected when the estimate was created.
There is an easy way in the DrChrono Patient Cost Estimator that allows you to add these unforeseen charges and provide an explanation for them.
- Navigate to the Patient Cost Estimator and press the edit pencil next to the estimate that needs to be updated
- The system will give you a prompt to indicate you are updating the estimate after the originally planned service was provided.
3. The screen will open for you to add additional services.
4. Once you save the additional charges, you will be given a screen to explain why the final bill is different from the original estimation.
5. After the additional charges and explanations are added, press Save and Preview. This will show you an "After Treatment Addedum" that you can then send to your patient electronically via OnPatient, print, or fax.
