Update to frozen charges

Below are the latest updates for frozen charges.

1. The "Show Inactive Charges" switch is now off by default.

2. Charges, units, and modifiers for frozen charges cannot be edited.

3. Deleting frozen charges is not permitted.

4. There is an option to reverse frozen charges. When a frozen charge is reversed, the system will process the reversal. Both the original and the reversal will be marked as inactive and will only appear when the "Show Inactive Charges" switch is enabled.

5. If an attempt to reverse a frozen charge that has associated insurance or patient payments, a pop-up alert will appear stating: "Transactions can't be reversed due to posted insurance/patient payments. Please remove them from the drchrono web version."



New workflow for future dated charges (iPad)

When charges are entered for a future appointment date, they are classified as temporary charges and will not appear in any reports.

Once the user saves the appointment on or after the appointment date, these temporary charges will be converted to actual charges and will begin to reflect in the reports.



Update to CPT and HCPCS editing screenAn update has been made to ensure that CPT and HCPCS editing functions are now consistent on both the iPhone and iPad.
Update to clinical note-saving functionChanges to a clinical note will immediately save whenever a smart field is switched on or off, or when the user leaves the form.
Note rendering updateWhen tapping "View Complete Note", the clinical note will only render after all updates have been processed.
Indicator for saving data updateWhen navigating away from a form, the progress indicator showing that data is being saved will only show if there are pending updates.
Option to retry when changes fail to save in a clinical noteAn alert will display that the save has failed within a clinical note. There will be an option to retry, dismiss the alert, and refresh the screen.
Saving changes within a formAn update has been made where changes will be saved before leaving a form.
Progress indicator added when making form template changesA loading bar will display when making changes to a form template.
Update to templates that fail to saveWhen a form fails to save, an alert will display.  When the alert is dismissed, the form will reload. 
Update to auto-save function

The auto-save function will trigger before a user performs the following:

  • copy other note
  • save section
  • fax section
  • print section
  • preview section


Idle time implemented for pending template updates.
An idle timer has been implemented when saving pending updates for templates.

Clinical note pending changes update
Pending updates will be saved prior to a user toggling the "include in note" to off.

Template change updates
When a user makes a change to a form template, the date will be saved immediately.   If the user manually toggles the "include in note" button, changes will not be able to be made until the data is saved.

Update to saving option (iPhone)
An update has been made to ensure consistency between the iPhone and iPad when saving data within a clinical note.
