To meet the Provide Patients Electronic Access to Their Health Information MIPS Promoting Interoperability measure, your practice must implement our ONC Cures Edition Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) API. To get started, you must set up ConnectEHR for FHIR.
Configure FHIR APIs before starting your Promoting Interoperability reporting period to earn the maximum points toward the Provide Patients Electronic Access to Their Health Information measure.
Fill out the MIPS Dashboard for 2024 reporting form completely. Not completing this entire process may impact your MIPS reporting.
You can use the ConnectEHR login credentials for third-party provider apps.
Set up ConnectEHR
Practice admin users can access API Management and set up users for ConnectEHR.
- Select Account > API.
- Select the ConnectEHR Setup for FHIR tab.
The Connect EHR Setup page opens.
- Fill out the form and then select Connect.
Note: Do not refresh your browser during this process. It may take several seconds (up to 20-30 in some cases) for the connected status to appear.
The status changes to Connected and a FHIR endpoint URL appears. If you are not connected, the status says Not Connected.
Activate users for ConnectEHR
It is currently not necessary for individual users to activate ConnectEHR; however, the connection must be established at the practice level.
- Under User Management, search for the user.
- Select Activate.
- Under Role, Clinician is selected by default.
- Enter a password.
- Select Activate.
The user's status changes to Active.
- Securely provide the password to the user.
