Medicare Processing Error
According to Palmetto GBA, (CMS- Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services MAC Processor), claims with dates of service January 1, 2023, and forward billed with a combination of POS codes 19, 22, 23, or 62 with CPTs 99221, 99222, 99223, 99231, 99232, 99233, 99238, or 99239 were incorrectly denied.
CMS is aware of the error. The impacted claims will be reprocessed as soon as the system editing is complete.
