ePrescribing with multiple SPI (SureScripts Prescriber ID) locations from the Web

For Practice Groups that serve patients in multiple states thus prescribing in multiple states, DrChrono's software allows for the respective controlled substance level (or lack of one) to be reflected accurately to the user and enable a proper ePrescribing workflow.

Example using the drug Gabapentin

This provider has two (2) registered SPI locations in different states (D.C. and Alabama).

They want to prescribe Gabapentin to two (2) patients located in different states.

  • Prescribing for patient D.C.
  1. Navigate to the patient's chart.
  2. Click Send eRx Tab.
  3. Choose the office location for Washington, DC.
  4. The drug registers as a Controlled Substance Level 0.

5. Proceed with filling in the necessary medication fields.

6. Select Pharmacy.

7. Preview Prescription.

8. Print, Fax, Save Draft or Send Prescription.

  • Prescribing for patient Alabama.
  1. Navigate to the patient's chart.
  2. Click Send eRx Tab.
  3. Choose the office location for Riverside, AL.
  4. The drug registers as a Controlled Substance Level 05.

5. Proceed with filling in the necessary medication fields.

6. Select Pharmacy.

7. Preview Prescription.

8. Save Draft or Send Prescription via Electronically Prescribing Controlled Substances with ID.me in DrChrono.

Multiple Supervising Provider Location SPIs on iOS

This functionality is also available on your iOS devices. When prescribing from the eRx page, click on the Supervising Provider button. A list will populate with all available providers and their locations. See screenshot:
