How to prescribe a compound medication for a non-controlled substance

You can use the compound medications feature to send electronically or print compound prescriptions.

From the patient chart, select Send eRx from the menu on the left and click on Compound in the new prescription screen.

You can then enter the prescription information in the Medication field. Ensure you check the box next to There is no controlled substance within the compound prescription.

Scroll down and select Preview Prescription.

Next, you can print the prescription for the patient or send it electronically.

The compound medication will appear in the drug name line on the prescription.

Re-sending Compound Prescriptions

  • Like non controlled and controlled medications, users can resend compound orders via
  • Medication List
  • Active Medication Orders
  • Select Order
  • Click Re-send Medication Selected Medication

The newly generated medication order will appear in the Active Medication Orders list. The original compound medication order will then show in the Past Medication Orders list with a status of "inactive" and an "end date" of when it was resent.
