ONC Update 2025: Diagnostic Imaging

To support our goal of achieving ONC HTI-1 2025 certification, we have upgraded our diagnostic imaging functionality to meet USCDI v3 data standards. A key enhancement includes the implementation of LOINC codes for imaging orders and results, enabling standardized terminology across healthcare systems.

Why This Update Matters

  • Interoperability: By aligning with USCDI v3 and incorporating LOINC codes, our system will support more consistent and accurate data sharing between providers, payers, and patients.
  • Compliance: This enhancement positions our platform to meet federal requirements for health IT certification, ensuring long-term viability and regulatory alignment.
  • Data Quality: Standardized coding improves the clarity, accuracy, and utility of diagnostic imaging records for clinical decision-making and reporting.

What Has Changed

New LOINC Mapping Capability: Imaging orders and results can now be associated with appropriate LOINC (Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes).

RequirementUpdate
Support LONIC Codification for Imaging Orders
  • To meet USCDI v3 requirements, we linked a LOINC code to imaging orders. Previously, we only used CPT codes. To fix this, we have added a new LOINC code field next to the existing CPT code field.
