The Legacy Form Builder is being retired December 16, 2025.
We’re moving to a new, modern experience! The Clinical Form Management tool offers full feature parity with the legacy Form Builder — plus enhancements like a rich text editor and form preview mode.
Don’t worry — your existing forms will not be deleted or removed, and you don’t need to recreate anything.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the legacy Form Builder being retired?
We’re transitioning away from the legacy Form Builder, which was built in Elm, an older technology that is difficult to maintain and extend. By moving to our new React-based Clinical Form Management tool, we can more easily deliver updates, improvements, and new features.
Additionally, upcoming USCDI v3 regulatory requirements are supported only in the Clinical Form Management tool. Because we cannot apply these updates in the legacy version, continuing to use it would make it non-compliant.
What happens to my existing forms?
Nothing changes! Your existing forms will remain intact and fully usable. You don’t need to recreate or migrate them manually — they already work seamlessly in the new Clinical Form Management tool. Both tools have had feature parity for quite some time.
Will the new Clinical Form Management tool look or feel different?
The core functionality and workflow are the same, so you’ll already know how to use it. The differences are primarily in the updated interface — it’s cleaner, more modern, and designed for better usability.
What new features are available in Clinical Form Management?
Along with everything you know and use today, the new tool includes:
- A rich text editor for greater flexibility when building forms
- Form preview mode, so you can review how forms will appear before publishing
- Improved performance and long-term maintainability
Do I need to take any action before December 16, 2025?
No action is required. We encourage you to begin using the Clinical Form Management tool as soon as possible to take advantage of its new features, but your current forms and workflows will remain unaffected.
